We are a group of writers in Richmond-upon-Thames, London, England. The group was founded in the 1920s and until the pandemic in March 2020 we met weekly in central Richmond to share and discuss our work. In November 2020 we restarted our meetings on Zoom and continue the meetings online. Since our original home in Richmond is no longer available we have not yet decided when to return to face-to-face meetings.
Our writing interests are eclectic and inclusive. We welcome poets, dramatists and writers of novels or short-stories in any genre of fiction together with non-fiction writing such as biography, historiography, travel writing or even hagiography.
We meet on Zoom every Wednesday between 8pm and 10pm London local time. Everyone is invited to read although that is not a requisite for attendance. The idea is to give enough time for you to read up to about 1200-1500 words and then to receive formative feedback from the rest of the group. The aim is to give everyone an opportunity to share their work although, depending on numbers, the chairperson may have to run a ballot.
